Laser Vaginal Revitalization:

New Syneron CO2RE Intima Laser Drastically Restores Vaginal and Intimate Health With High Patient Satisfaction...

As we age so do our organs, including our hearts, lungs and skin. The vaginal and vulvar area (just outside the vaginal entrance) also age. However, there are two things that affect the vaginal and vulvar aging process which make it different from aging in other tissues. First are the hormonal changes that occur with menopause. Vaginal, vulvar and urinary tissues are hormone sensitive. The second difference is related to childbirth with vaginal delivery, which stretches these tissues.
Hormonal changes are well known and occur with menopause, when estrogen levels drop. The normally thick, supple walls of a younger vagina shrink substantially. This can lead to dryness, itching, burning as well as pain and/or bleeding during sex. This often affects a woman’s relationships, sexual satisfaction and/or confidence, including when dating. Often, it affects her partner’s satisfaction as well, since pain in one partner is problematic for both.
In summary, six correctable vaginal, urinary and vulvar problems may occur with aging: vaginal laxity, atrophic vaginitis (including irritation or pain with sex), urinary leakage, decreased pleasure with sex, vulvar atrophy and external vulvar color changes. Until recently options for vaginal atrophy and/or tightening have been limited. These have included surgery to tighten the vaginal canal. This is an effective way to tighten up, but if a woman has urinary leakage, pain with sex, vaginal atrophy or external color changes these are often not helped by this type of surgery. Surgery is expensive and this type is often not covered by insurance. It requires general anesthesia and has some risk of complications. Typically, intercourse should be avoided for 6-8 weeks.

With the CO2RE Intima Laser We Can Improve the Following Symptoms:

Relieve signs of childbirth and aging
• Restore vaginal tone, flexibility and shape
• Treat dryness, itching and pain
• Treat dyschromia and skin pigmentation
• And more...

Benefits of Laser Vaginal Revitalization:

Recently, carbon dioxide (CO2) lasers have become a popular way to rejuvenate the vaginal tissues. These laser treatments are almost painless, far cheaper than surgery, have a very low complication rate, down time of only 3-7 days and work very well.

Within a month most women have less urinary leakage, vaginal canal tightening and more comfortable sex. The vulvar tissues and pigment issues on the outside are also improved if a woman opts for external laser of the vulva, offered at Reno Sparks Medspa at no additional charge and done simultaneously with the vaginal laser treatment.

How Long Does a Laser Vaginal Revitalization Treatment Take?
The entire procedure requires no vaginal anesthetic and a sterile, single patient use, vaginal probe plastic cover is used. The vaginal procedure takes less than 10 minutes and if external laser is added it is still under 20 minutes. First, Dr. Van Reken will do a quick look with a speculum at the vaginal tissues just like when you have a Pap smear. As long as things look normal we can then proceed with treatment. Typically, one of our outstanding, experienced bilingual, female laser techs will perform the procedure, with Blanca and Molly doing most of them Anyone firing the laser will be thoroughly trained and certified.

How Many Treaments Are Needed?
For best results most practitioners do 3 procedures, each at least 4 weeks apart. However, women with more minor problems (typically prior to the menopause) may be happy with 1 or 2 procedures. After vaginal reconditioning in a postmenopausal woman a refresher procedure is typically done about yearly. A younger woman may need this less often or not at all. The satisfaction rate is nearly 100% after vaginal laser treatment as people find it painless or nearly so and also find it extremely effective. If you are interested let us know and we can give you more information and see if you are a candidate for this high tech, effective, nonsurgical option.

Noticeable Results Seen Often After Just One Treatment:

At Reno Sparks Medspa, Dr. Van Reken and his laser team are excited to have the Syneron CO2RE Intima Laser, which performs vaginal revitalization, vulvar revitalization and also skin resurfacing on areas such as the face, neck and décolleté. The patients that have already been treated with a vaginal CO2 laser by Dr. Van Reken are quite satisfied. One young lady with urinary incontinence was cured after one laser treatment and also noted improved pleasure during sex. These improvements occured in under one month with noticeable results often seen after the first visit.
