Once we determine you’re a suitable candidate, our doctors will create a customized treatment plan for your particular aesthetics needs. Don’t worry because we won’t ask you to do much before your treatment session. For example, we’ll ask you to avoid drinking any alcohol prior to your treatment session and to avoid taking any blood-thinning medications.
On the Day of Your Treatment
On the day of your treatment, expect to come to our beautiful, state-of-the-art facility in Reno. First, we ask that you come wearing no makeup, and then we’ll apply a numbing cream to your face before your treatment session. The numbing cream combined with the micro-fine needles we use means that you’ll remain comfortable and pain-free during your treatment session. At most, you’ll feel a bit of pressure.
After we apply the numbing cream, you’ll undergo the actual treatment, which is a series of injections we’ll make according to the personalized treatment plan we set up earlier. In fact, the entire treatment session shouldn’t take longer than between ten and thirty minutes—that’s it!
After Your Treatment
Another great part of this treatment is that there is no downtime or recovery required after your session. You won’t need to take any time off work, and you won’t need a friend to drive you home or care for you at all. You can simply keep going about your day. In fact, many of our patients schedule treatment sessions during their lunch break.
However, we will give you a few different guidelines to ensure that your skin heals quickly and correctly. Typically, these guidelines include avoiding things like extreme heat, vigorous exercise, facial massages, and harsh chemicals for about 24 hours after your treatment session. As we mentioned earlier, you should also avoid alcohol consumption.
Will My Face Feel Numb After a Treatment Session?
There is a lot of misconception and confusion about whether this treatment causes numbness since it targets the facial nerves. However, you can rest easy, because you will have complete feeling in your face after your treatment session. Since this treatment works on motor neurons and not sensory neurons, you’ll still be able to feel and move your muscles normally. That’s because this treatment targets motor neurons, which are responsible for movement, instead of sensory neurons, which are responsible for feeling and sensation.
How Quickly Will You See Results?
You can expect to see results very quickly after your treatment session, anywhere from three days to six days. Optimal results will be in place about ten days after your treatment session. However, the exact results you will see depend on some factors. For one, lifestyle, skin tissue, and how your body processes the injectable all affect how quickly your results will show. So, even if you think the results seem a little slow to develop, rest assured that the final result will be more than worth it.
How Long Do the Results Last?
The results of this treatment usually last around three to four months. That means you can enjoy your smooth, supple skin for a long time before you need to schedule a touch-up session. However, please keep in mind that individual results may vary since every person is different.
Once you see the results start to fade, it’s time to schedule a maintenance session for a quick touch-up. Maintenance sessions are just as quick and easy as your initial treatment session.
